AF-WS Series Cyclone Water Separators
Take the bulk water out before anything expensive sees it

Centrifugal water separators from 2.4 to 450 Nm³/min. The same housing as the AF-D filter range, finished black and fitted with a cyclone element — no consumable, no maintenance and no rising pressure drop. A tangential inlet spins the air, the liquid is thrown to the wall and gravity drops it to the drain.
Models: AF-15WS to AF-F4500WS · 19 models · Filtration & air treatment
- 98 % Separation efficiency

Key specifications
| Separation principle | Centrifugal and inertial |
|---|---|
| Separation efficiency | ≥ 98 % above 10 µm |
| Particle size separated | ≤ 10 µm |
| Initial pressure loss | 0.07 bar |
| Element | None — maintenance free |
| Standard working pressure | 7 bar |
| Air temperature | 2 – 80 °C |
| Drain | Ball valve fitted; auto drain optional |
| Mounting | Vertical, pipe supported |
| Housing life | 10 years |
| Medium | Compressed air, non-corrosive gas |
Why this range
- No element and nothing consumable — the only maintenance is checking the drain
- Pressure drop stays at 0.07 bar for the life of the vessel
- Threaded aluminium bodies to 16 bar up to 50 Nm³/min; flanged carbon steel to 10 bar above
- Shares head, bowl and bracket with AF-D filters — common spares
- Lengthens element life on every filter behind it

With a separator, and without one
| With a separator | Without one | |
|---|---|---|
| What the first filter sees | Aerosol only | Aerosol plus slugs of liquid |
| Element change interval | Normal — set by Δp | Shortened, sometimes drastically |

Where it is used
- Immediately after the aftercooler
- At the receiver outlet
- Ahead of the first coalescing filter
- At the bottom of long pipe runs
